Elephant mahouts prepare to submit a complaint to the New Zealand Consulate on the media case, distorting the Thai elephant.

“To hurt the elephants severely, we do not even think about it. One of the actions to prevent mahouts harming elephants is to have a vet in the elephant camp, waiting to check the elephant’s health. And also the elephant camp had severe penalties if the mahout would attack the elephant body and it get injured. This is to confirm that there is no elephant abuse, no harm to elephants and that does not occur in elephant camps.”

Mrs. Wasana Thongsuk said that she is ready to prove the well-being of elephants in their elephant camps and elsewhere in the area.
